The Hawks’ hopes of an FA Cup run have been dashed after they lost their second-round-qualifying replay against Gloucester City 3-2.

Matty Groves gave Skrill North side Gloucester the lead on 22 minutes at Westleigh Park, before Christian Nanetti levelled matters from the penalty spot on the half-hour mark.

A Scott Wilson goal immediately after the half-time interval put the Tigers back in control, which was added to by Lewis Hogg on 67 minutes.

And although the home side finished strongly with a goal from Sahr Kabba in the dying seconds, the damage was already done and the Hawks exited the competition.

Bognor were denied a third-qualifying-round clash with Cirencester after they crashed to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Weymouth in their replay at Nyewood Lane.

Meanwhile, in the Wessex League premier division, a Jamie Musselwhite header earned AFC Portchester a 1-1 draw at Folland Sports.

Also in the premier division, Horndean lost 3-0 at title-chasing Newport IOW, while Moneyfields slipped to a 3-1 loss against Sholing at the Silverlake Arena.
