The Hawks suffered late heartbreak as AFC Hornchurch denied them victory at Bridge Avenue.

The home side had bossed the first half of the Blue Square Bet South clash – and went in 1-0 ahead through Martin Tuohy.

However, the Hawks launched a spirited fightback after the break.

And two goals in quick succession from Ollie Palmer turned the tables.

It wasn’t enough, though, as the hosts struck back late on – taking advantage of a defensive mix-up between Ryan Woodford and keeper Clark Masters.

Leon McKenzie had the final touch to pull his side level and snatch a point.

Woodford was then sent-off in stoppage-time, adding to the Hawks late disappointment.
