Two Scott Jones goals fired the Hawks to a 2-0 Skrill South win over basement side Dorchester Town at the Avenue Stadium.

Jones struck with a diving header after 23 minutes and then caught the home side napping in the opening minutes of the second half to notch his second goal.

The win extended the Hawks unbeaten run to 13 games, giving them the perfect boost ahead of Saturday’s big FA Trophy game against Gosport Borough.

Alex Pike’s Borough, meanwhile, handed a debut to Bournemouth midfielder Josh Carmichael as they suffered a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of third-from-bottom Whitehawk.

The results leaves Borough second from bottom in the Skrill South table.
