The Hawks made an embarrassing exit from the Hampshire Senior Cup as they lost 1-0 to Wessex premier division Winchester City at West Leigh Park.

The home team, fielding virtually a full-strength side, dominated the contest but fell to a 79th-minute sucker punch as they failed to make the semi-finals.

Mustafa Tiryaki was guilty of wasting two good chances, while substitute Guiseppe Sole was denied at the death.

But the Hawks were left to rue conceding the game’s only goal with 11 minutes left when Lee Mills picked up a poor clearance and squeezed his shot just inside the far post.
