An Aristide Bassele strike got the Hawks’ Skrill South play-off push back on track with a 1-0 win over Bromley at Westleigh Park.

Bassele struck the decisive goal in first-half stoppage-time, against the run of play.

An excellent defensive performance kept the Kent side at bay in the second half, though the home side rode their luck at times.

And Dover’s draw at Bishop’s Stortford now means Lee Bradbury’s side occupy the fifth and final play-off spot.

Gosport Borough’s three-game unbeaten run in Skrill South couldn’t be extended, as two second-half goals for visitors Concord Rangers cancelled out a superb Josh Carmichael opener.

A tough schedule of four games in a week for Borough seemed to catch up with Alex Pike’s men after a tough contest at Privett Park.

A goal in each half from Nathan Lynch and Jake Thomson ensured that Portchester took the honours in their Wessex League premier derby against Moneyfields at a damp and dreary Wicor Rec this afternoon.

Elsewhere, Bognor earned a 1-1 draw at Margate in the Ryman League premier division.

Ollie Pearce netted for the Rocks to keep their play-off hopes alive.
