The Hawks are without new central defender Chris Holland as they continue their pre-season preparations against Ryman League Hendon at West Leigh Park tomorrow (3pm).
Holland is kept out by long-standing work commitments the club were aware of when he signed from Eastleigh.
Manager Shaun Gale expects to give the rest of his senior squad their second outing, following their 4-0 defeat at the hands of Pompey.
The Hawks have also lost to Brighton & Hove Albion and Wessex League premier division outfit Blackfield & Langley.
But in both those games Gale fielded a mix of triallists and academy players.
Tomorrow’s squad will include last season’s top scorer Wes Fogden, who this week signed a new long-term contract with the club after fans feared he would be poached.
‘Hendon will provide us with a good test,’ said Gale.
‘They only lost 1-0 last week to Boreham Wood, who we play in our opening league game.
‘For me it is now about trimming it down and not making wholesale changes.
‘We have looked at a few things and are looking to do things slightly differently this season.
‘It is important we try to get what we want out of this game.
‘Everything is aimed at being prepared for the start of the season and it is no good peaking at this stage.
‘The deal with Wes is fantastic for the club and his ability and enthusiasm are key parts of us achieving what we set out to do.
‘He was our top goalscorer last season and we are looking to get him into areas this year where he can score more.’
Gale expects experienced striker Lee Peacock to be okay after he came off with a tight hamstring after 20 minutes against Pompey.
