The Hawks kept their faint play-off hopes alive with a comfortable 2-0 win at Basingstoke Town this afternoon.

Two goals inside four minutes at the end of the first half from Wes Fogden and Manny Williams (pen) proved enough to secure all three points for the visitors.

The Rocks are back on top of Ryman one south tonight after a fairly-straightforward 3-0 lunchtime victory over Chipstead at Nyewood Lane.

Jason Prior took his league goals tally for the season to 25 with a double, while Luke Nightingale scored his 20th as the Rocks brushed aside an ordinary visiting side.

In the Wessex League, Fareham put their Portsmouth Senior and Russell-Cotes Cup disappoinments behind them with a 2-1 win over battling New Milton Town at Cams Alders.

Graham Lindsey and Mark Cotton were both on the mark for Matt Parr’s side.

There’s very little for Hayling to get excited about, though.

The Humbugs remain rooted to the bottom of the premier division table after a 5-0 humbling at the hands of visitors Hamble ASSC.
