The Hawks made light of missing players to grind out an outstanding 1-0 win at Dover.

Giuseppe Sole’s fifth-minute goal proved enough to earn the visitors three vital points in their bid to keep their play-off ambitions alive in Blue Square South.

Moneyfields’ hopes of a top-six finish in the Wessex League premier division took a knock after a 1-0 defeat at home to Bemerton Heath Harlequins.

In Wessex division one, Horndean had their promotion bid dented with a 2-1 loss at Verwood.

Alex Miroy pulled a goal back for the Deans from the penalty spot but it was not enough.

Elsewhere, AFC Portchester shared a 2-2 with Petersfield, while in the Hampshire Premier League, Clanfield drew 1-1 with Fleetlands.

Harry Potter opened the scoring for Clanfield on 75 minutes, before Ash Tattersall’s 82nd-minute leveller.
