THE Hawks returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win against bottom of the league Grays Athletic at Mill Lane.

First half goals from Rory Williams and a Jason Prior penalty put the visitors in charge.

The second half petered out as a contest with the hosts offering little threat.

Elsewhere, Petersfield’s defeat to Aylesbury means the Rams are confined to finishing in the bottom two places of the Southern League division one central.

Alex O’Brien’s deflected shot on 17 minutes was enough to give the visitors a win.

Meanwhile, Bognor remain top of the Ryman League premier division following a crushing 7-1 win against Folkestone Invicta at Nyewood Lane.

The Rocks trailed 1-0 at the break but a devastating second-half performance left the visitors in tatters.

Goals from James Fraser (2), an own goal, James Crane (2), Jimmy Wild and Ollie Pearce completed the rout. The win keeps the Rocks one point in front of the Hawks.

Gosport Borough got their first Vanarama National League south division win since October with a 4-0 home success against St Albans City.

First half goals from Tony Lee (2) and Joe Lea put Borough in charge. Ollie Bailey sealed the win four minutes from the end.

In the Wessex League premier division Horndean beat Newport IOW 3-0 at Five Heads Park.

Fareham Town recorded a 4-0 win against Brockenhurst at Cams Alders. AFC Portchester lost 2-1 at Bashley after leading 1-0 at the break.

Baffins Milton Rovers drew 0-0 at home to Downton in division one.

Goals from Jimmy Cuthbert and Jordan Neal helped United Services come from behind to win 2-1 at Alton.
