Pompey’s opening pre-season fixture against Hawks was called off.
Hawks’ Westleigh Park pitch was deemed unplayable following a heavy downpour an hour before kick-off.
Referee Kris Hames had no alternative but to cancel the clash with it evident how sodden the turf was, as he conducted his inspection.
That was a blow with supporters and Pompey’s players already in attendance.
The Blues players instead undertook an impromptu training session as they decamped for their Eastleigh base.
Triallists Mustapha Dumbuya and Jon Harley were present, along with keepers Simon Eastwood and Laurie Walker.
Pompey will now open their pre-season campaign in Spain against Gibraltar next Friday.
They then take on Brighton on Tuesday, July 24.
