Moneyfields consolidated their top-four spot in the Wessex League premier division with a solid, if unspectacular, 3-1 win over Downton.

Goals from Mick Birmingham, Dan Gauntlett and Steve Hutchings were enough to keep the hosts’ superb run going at Dover Road tonight.

Elsewhere, Horndean registered the same scoreline in their victory over Bournemouth Poppies at Five Heads Park.

Louis Bell put The Deans on the road to victory, with Chamal Fenelon bagging a second half hat-trick.

No such luck for struggling Hayling United, though, who were beaten 2-1 at Christchurch.
