Gosport dropped more points at home as they had to settle for a 0-0 draw with fellow Southern League premier strugglers Hitchin Town.
Borough, who have won just one league match at Privett Park all season, had the ball in the net in the opening half but the effort was ruled out for a foul by Jamie Brown on the Hitchin keeper.
In the build-up, Brett Poate swung in a free-kick which Nathan Kirby should have scored from.
Meanwhile, Hitchin saw a 30-yard volley from Callum Stuart held by Nathan Ashmore.
Gosport had chances early in the second half, Sammy Igoe forcing Martin Bennett into a great save and, from the resultant corner, Sam Pearce’s header was cleared off the line.
A minute later, the referee appeared to award the hosts a penalty but booked Dan Wooden for diving instead,
The rest of the match was a relatively-quiet affair as Gosport stay at the wrong end of the table.
