Mick Jenkins has left AFC Portchester.

The former Hawks boss was director of football at Wicor Rec.

But the Wessex League premier division club today announced his departure following their most successful ever season.

Jenkins has decided to take a break from the game.

AFC Portchester chairman Paul Kelly said: ‘We would like to thank Mick for his work at AFC Portchester having arriving at the club during the 2011-12 season.

‘We wish him all the best for the future.

‘Both parties agreed it was the right time to leave after the club’s most successive season.

‘He wishes to take a break in football and spend more time with his family along with recovering from an operation he has to undergo over the summer months.’

AFC Portchester’s management committee will meet over the next week to being the search for a replacement.

Although the season has finished, the Royals are already working towards next season.
