A first-half Sahr Kabba strike helped the Hawks get their Skrill South play-off push back on track with a 1-0 win at Basingstoke Town.

Kabba’s decisive goal gave the visitors the edge in a game that offered little in entertainment value.

Bognor were comfortably beaten 2-0 by mid-table Bury Town, though, as Nnamdi Nwachuku and Jordan Patrick goals dented their Ryman League premier division promotion ambitions at Ram Meadow.

In the Wessex League premier division, a solitary John Wilson goal was enough to earn Fareham all three points against Whitchurch, as they ended a run of three consecutive defeats.

There were also victories for Horndean, who beat Bournemouth 1-0 at Five Heads Park and Moneyfields who overcame Totton & Eling 4-2 at Dover Road.

Meanwhile, AFC Portchester lost 2-1 at promotion rivals Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
