Justin Bennett became Gosport’s second-highest scorer in the club’s history but Borough had to settle for a point after a 3-3 thriller at Weymouth.
Gosport went in at the break 1-0 up in their Southern League premier division clash after Tom Dunford’s opener.
But Weymouth hit back after the break to lead 2-1, before Danny Smith’s screamer from 20 yards brought Gosport level.
In an entertaining clash, Bennett looked to have won it for the away side with a typically well-taken finish, only for Weymouth to score again to bag a point.
In the Wessex premier division, a first-half blitz helped Fareham to a 5-1 derby win at Hayling.
The Reds were 4-0 up after 25 minutes as Bryn McKie, Wayne Boud and Dougie Rowe (2).
Hayling pulled a goal back through Lenny Burney but Fareham scored again in the second half through Boud.
Elsewhere, AFC Portchester suffered a 2-0 loss at home to Totton & Eling.
