Graham Lindsey claimed a superb hat-trick to help Fareham Town beat Alton Town 4-1 in the Wessex League premier division.

Matt Burt also got on the scoresheet as the Reds cruised to victory.

‘It was a just reward for all the hard work Graham has put in during the past couple of games,’ said Fareham manager Matt Parr.

‘That makes it two good performances back to back for us.’

Hayling United pulled off an outstanding premier division upset with a 3-1 away success at Downton.

Goals from Alex Easton, Lee Tigwell and Aaron Kinchen gave the visitors a well-deserved win.

‘We are the most unpredictable team in the league,’ admitted Humbugs manager Steve Poulton.

‘Again, we have shown that we can raise our game against the top sides.

‘It was a decent performance and we could easily have won by five or six goals.’

The Humbugs led at half-time through Easton’s 15th-minute goal, after a Lee Tigwell cross was headed down by Nathan Kirby.

The home side equalised after the break.

But Tigwell restored the visitors’ lead with a blockbuster free-kick.

Kinchen sealed the win in the final minute.
