LUCKY Hawks held out for a 0-0 draw against a dominant Eastbourne Borough at Westleigh Park this afternoon.

The visitors hit the woodwork on four occasions as Shaun Gale’s side were denied the chance to record a much-needed home win following the disappointment of their 3-0 defeat at the hands of Woking on their last Blue Square Bet South outing.

Bognor were also denied victory as they were held to a 2-2 draw away to Folkestone.

Jason Prior gave the visitors the lead early in the second half, before two Simon Austin goals after the interval gave the home side the lead.

The Rocks looked set to suffer defeat on the road before Prior popped up again to ensure a share of the points.

In the Southern League, injury-hit Gosport returned home from Paulton Rovers with a creditable 0-0 draw.

Steve Hutchings was the hero for Moneyfields after they defeated Horndean 2-1 in a Wessex League premier division derby.

Louis Bell gave the hosts the lead before Hutchings came to Moneys’ rescue to ensure they enjoy the local bragging rights for the time being.

Also in the premier division, Wayne Boud scored as Fareham were held to a 1-1 draw at New Milton Town, while Hayling were defeated 5-0 by Romsey Twon.
