A brave rearguard action from the nine-man Hawks was foiled late on as Farnborough ran out 2-0 winners in the Blue Square South.

The visitors were reduced to nine men as half-time approached, with both Wes Fogden and Mustafa Tiryaki dismissed.

Fogden was the first to go – receiving a second yellow for simulation – before the referee grew tired of Tiryaki’s dissent and dismissed the Turkish striker.

After the break the Hawks frustrated the home side until the 77th minute when Sam Pearce sent the ball into his own net.

And then, in the dying minutes of the match, Bradley Bubb scored Farnborough’s second goal to net the points for the home side.
