Unbeaten AFC Portchester continued their good form with a 2-0 win over Hamworthy United at Wicor Rec.

Two second-half goals from substitute Luke Sweeney saw the Royals see off the challenge of the Dorset visitors.

Royals manager Graham Rix felt it was a solid, well deserved win for his injury-hit side.

‘We have a lot of players out at the moment so it shows the good depth we have in the squad,’ said Rix.

‘It took patience but it was just a matter of time before we scored.’

Sweeney got the opening goal on 65 minutes when he fired home after a scramble in the area.

He sealed the win 10 minutes later with his second goal of the game.

Again he was in the right place at the right time as he knocked the ball in at the far post, following good work by Joe Noakes.
