Gosport Borough got their Zamaretto Southern League division one south & west play-off push back on track with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Clevedon Town at Privett Park.

Goals from Pat Cox, Tom Price and the returning Justin Bennett sealed victory for Alex Pike’s side, who were without a win in six going into today’s game.

In the Wessex League premier division, Hayling United conceded a last-gasp penalty as they could only draw with fellow-strugglers Romsey Town.

Lee Paul’s side lead 4-2 at half-time following goals from Dan Martin, Rob Tambling, Steve Black and Lenny Burney.

But they conceded two in the second half, including that last-gasp penalty, without reply to be denied what would have been a precious win for the division’s bottom club.

In the Blue Square South, the Hawks face a mammoth end-of-season fixture pile-up after their game with Dartford was called off.

Fareham’s home game with Brockenhurst was also a victim of the recent weather.
