AFC PORTCHESTER continued their impressive Wessex League premier division form with a 4-0 win over Lymington tonight.

The Wicor Rec side made it nine games without defeat in the league thanks to a show of force against their visitors from the New Forest.

Goals from Joe Bye and Jamie Musselwhite put the Royals in control at half-time, before a Simon Woods brace in the second half wrapped up the win.

Fareham Town produced their best display of the season to record an impressive 4-1 win at high-flying Alresford Town.

The Reds fell behind early on but hit back through a typical Graham Lindsey poacher’s goal before half-time.

The second half belonged to the visitors, who added further goals from Ash Tattersall, Pete Murphy and Wayne Boud.

Poor defending was to blame for Horndean’s 5-4 defeat at the hands of Christchurch.

Lenny Burney put the home side ahead after five minutes with a 25-yard effort, but the visitors equalised soon after.

Goals from Dan Sharp and Burney, again, put Horndean in charge but they lost the initiative by conceding twice in the five minutes before half-time.

The hosts then found themselves 5-3 down early in the second half, before Sharp grabbed his second five minutes from time.

In the final minute, Burney and Dan Hayes got in each other’s way to miss an open goal.

Jake Raine fired Moneyfields into the next round of Wessex League Cup by scoring both goals in the Copnor club’s 2-0 win at Folland Sports.
