Heavy overnight rain has hit today’s football fixture list.

A 1pm pitch inspection is planned at Fratton Park to determine if Pompey’s League One match with Notts County will take place.

Referee Tony Bates said the surface was playable after a look at 12.30pm but scheduled another inspection after having concerns with the goalmouths and corners of the pitch.

The Hawks’ rearranged Blue Square Bet South clash with Bath City has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at Westleigh Park.

And the Wessex League premier division matches between Moneyfields and Fareham, Horndean v Verwood Town and Hayling v Bournemouth are also off.

As it stands, Gosport’s Southern premier division tussle at Chippenham Town will go ahead, although a pitch inspection is expected this afternoon.

Pompey Academy’s game at home to Southend could not go ahead because of a waterlogged pitch at Eastleigh.
