Fareham and Bognor marched on in the FA Cup this afternoon.

The Reds defeated Christchurch 2-1, thanks to goals from Danny Thompson and James Roden.

Meanwhile, Bognor were 4-0 winners over Epsom & Ewell – with Ben Johnson netting twice and Terry Dodd and James Crane getting one apiece.

The two clubs go straight through to the second qualifying round, while Gosport will first have to negotiate a replay with Bashley on Tuesday night at Privett Park.

They needed a last-minute equaliser – an own goal – to snatch a 1-1 draw in the New Forest.

Horndean will not be in the hat, though, as they went down 2-0 at Newport.

In Blue Square Bet South, the Hawks drew 2-2 with Tonbridge Angels.

After shipping two early strikes at Westleigh Park, the hosts hit back through Ed Harris and Ollie Palmer to grab a share of the spoils.

AFC Portchester fought out a 3-3 draw with Lymington in the Wessex League premier division, while Hayling went down 4-0 at the hands of Alresford.
