JOE RICHARDSON scored two cracking free-kicks as Hayling United recorded a superb 3-2 win over Fawley in the Wessex League premier division last night.

The Humbugs started the match well with Aaron Kinchen and Jack Salter-Vaile going close.

But Fawley struck first on 15 minutes. Gary Luff lost possession and Steve Hall set up Justin Grandison to fire low into the net.

Alex Easton was left to applaud the efforts of Fawley keeper Dave Rhodes when his heroics denied the Hayling striker a leveller.

At the other end, home keeper Luke Hutchings performed a miracle stop of his own, before Hayling equalised on 50 minutes.

Luff’s floated free-kick teed up Salter-Vaile to net with a left-footed finish.

It got better for the Humbugs when Richardson rammed home a free-kick for 2-1.

Fawley hit back as Greg King’s long cross was met by Grandison to level.

Hayling then had Luff sent off but still snatched a dramatic late winner.

Richardson blasted home another fine free-kick to settle the contest.
