Ollie Palmer has penned a new two-and-a-half-year deal with the Hawks.

The 21-year-old striker has enjoyed a fine season and, having been previously been linked with the likes of Chelsea, the Hawks turned down a four-figure sum from League One club Colchester last month for Palmer’s services.

However, the forward has now committed his short-term future with Lee Bradbury’s side.

And that can give the Hawks a lift as they continue their fight for Blue Square Bet South survival at home to Sutton United on Saturday.

Meanwhile, defender Sam Pearce has joined Bognor on a one-month loan.
