Hawks midfielder Brian Stock has been banned for five games after picking up his third red card of the season in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Ebbsfleet.

The 33-year-old remains eligible for this weekend’s trip to Chelmsford, but will miss now the end of the Hawks’ Vanarama Conference South campaign and – should they qualify – the first game of the play-offs.

Stock, a summer signing from Burnley, saw red for a late tackle on Fleet conterpart Dean Rance and has also been dismissed against Swindon Supermarine and Preston in the FA Cup earlier this term.

The former Bournemouth man, who has been capped three times for Wales, signed a new two-year deal with the Hawks earlier this month.

But with video footage proving inconclusive, The News understands that the Westleigh Park club, who sit fourth in the league standings, will not be appealing Stock’s suspension.
