Horndean manager Craig Pearce was disappointed to see his team held to a 1-1 draw by Fawley in their Wessex League premier division clash at Five Heads Park.
‘It was definitely two points dropped after a very flat performance,’ said the Deans boss.
‘When we had the ball we didn’t look after it well enough.
‘And in the final third we lacked creativity and invention. We looked a tired team.’
Horndean made a perfect start with Matt Burt volleying in from a sixth-minute corner.
Burt went from hero to villain in the 70th minute, though.
He conceded a penalty, which the Oilmen gratefully converted to snatch a share of the spoils.
Moneyfields and Verwood Town fought out a 0-0 draw at Dover Road.
‘It was our fourth game in seven days and some of our players were dead on their feet,’ said Moneys manager Dave Carter.
‘Verwood parked the bus, obviously came for a point and got what they wanted.
‘Their goalkeeper pulled off some good saves and we missed chances.’
AFC Portchester had their promotion dreams badly dented by a 1-0 defeat at Team Solent.
