Fareham Town will keep faith in their young talent as they bid to start 2012 with a bang against Bournemouth Poppies at Cams Alders today (3pm).

The Reds’ youngsters ended last year with a poor run of results in the Wessex League premier division.

But manager Matt Parr is far from despondent about things.

‘Our performances have been good but we have not got the results we deserved,’ said Parr. ‘We will continue pushing our young players through and hopefully things will turnaround.

‘Recently, we had three 17-year-olds in our back four and it is a steep learning curve.

‘It is all about preparing for the future because we have some great youngsters.

‘There is no despondency and the players are all looking forward to the next game.

‘They are excited and buzzing.

‘The whole club is behind what we are trying to do.

‘It is more about the performance rather than results.’
