The Pompey boss is dancing to his own tune, kites are flying high and the Shrimps take timewasting to a new level...

Being warned by the referee for slowing down play after two-and-a-half minutes must be some kind of record.

Yet, that’s what referee Roger East was forced to do.

Huge credit has to be given to the Shrimps for the manner in which they came and took the game to Pompey, that’s for sure.

But the antics of Jim Bentley’s side did the trick in sending the home crowd apoplectic throughout. The fact it took keeper Barry Roche just 35 minutes to go into the book for a lack of urgency over goal-kicks underlined the approach.

It was amusing to see Alan Goodall taking to the pitch after the restart – while he could barely move.

That allowed for a substitution after play had restarted, of course.

Six minutes of stoppage-time did provide Jayden Stockley with the stage for his late, late leveller, however.
