Michael Appleton has admitted he has real fears Pompey will not be able to fulfil this season’s fixtures.

Blues administrator Trevor Birch has revealed the club are close to being liquidated, with funds running out to keep Pompey going.

And with no new owner lined up at this moment in time, Appleton is now fearing the worst.

The Blues boss said: ‘The situation is bad enough that we won’t be able to see the season out unless something is done to sort everything out.’
