Michael Appleton paid tribute to the quality of Pompey’s performance as they banished their away day blues.
Appleton’s men delivered a textbook display as they banished the worst away record in the Football League at Turf Moor today.
Pompey had picked up just three points on the road all season - but doubled that total with a late, late winner from David Norris.
Norris’ 25 yarder gave Pompey their first away win since March.
Appleton thought it was a maximum his men fully deserved.
He said: ‘We played very well today.
‘we played particularly well in the first-half, and I thought we passed it really well.
‘They went a bit more direct in the second-half, and we had to deal with that.
‘So you use lose out on territory, but we’ve been working on that all were prepared.
‘I felt pretty comfortable that they weren’t going to score.
‘I knew we get opportunities, and we were able to take one of them at the death.’
