Michael Appleton is refusing to let an ‘excuse culture’ engulf Pompey.
The Blues boss has told his players he doesn’t want to hear them blame the club’s troubles off the pitch when it comes to on-the-field issues.
Administrator Andrew Andronikou’s expectation the club will be hit with winding-up proceedings this week follows on from The News revealing Pompey have an £1.6m unpaid tax bill.
It the latest in a long line of woes – but Appleton had told his team he won’t stand for that being used as a reason for poor performances.
He said: ‘I’ve told the players I refuse to let an excuse culture come into this club.’
