Michael Appleton lauded dominant Pompey as they cruised to a deserved 2-0 success over Watford.
Appleton believed his men created enough chances to win three games as they triumphed at Fratton Park.
Marko Futacs and Hayden Mullins got the goals to ensure the Blues started the new year in fine style.
Appleton was pleased with all aspects of his team’s play against the Hornets.
He said: ‘It was deserved - just slightly!
‘It was a good performance.
‘We started well and put them on the back foot.
‘In the second half we stepped up three or four gears and created enough chances to win three games.
‘The two probably flattered them, really.
‘There were a lot of positives to take from the display.’
