ANDY AWFORD is to be offered a new role at Pompey after departing as manager today.

Awford was officially removed as Blue boss this morning at a meeting at the club’s Roko training ground in Hilsea.

But the club’s board have indicated to the former defender there will be another position offered to him at Fratton Park.

Awford was previously Academy manager before replacing Richie Barker last March.

Gary Waddock and Paul Hardyman are set to continue first-team duties ahead of the clash with Stevenage tomorrow.
