Pompey held play-off chasing Swansea to a 0-0 draw with a determined display.

Despite having nothing to play for in terms of the Championship table, Steve Cotterill’s men put in an industrious effort against the Welsh outfit at Fratton Park.

They had their chances to win it, too, across the course of the clash.

Aaron Mokoena should have scored after putting a free header wide from a few yards after just three minutes.

Then, captain Hermann Hreidarsson headed wide as the Blues started well.

The best chance after the break fell to Kanu, but Angel Rangel denied the Nigerian.

It was a gutsy effort from Pompey as they responded to Cotterill’s challenge to show their professionalism.

The bad news for them was the sight of both Dave Kitson and the impressive Ritchie De Laet limping off with injuries.
