Richie Barker branded it a bitter-sweet point for his men at Morecambe today.
Pompey picked up a 2-2 draw against the play-off-chasers at the Globe Arena today.
But it would have been a win if Trevor Carson hadn’t spilled Jack Redshaw’s second-half shot.
That came after he saved a first-half penalty from Padraig Amond.
Barker was pleased with the display of his side.
But there was a tinge of disappointment it wasn’t a win for them.
Barker said: ‘I’m pleased with how we played.
‘The football we played was a real positive in the conditions.
‘Being 2-1 up and the way the goal came was disappointing, though.
‘Trevor said if their player hits that another 100 times he saves it.
‘But we accept that because of the penalty save he made in the first half.
‘So it’s been a real contrasting day for Trevor.
‘But there are a lot of positives to take from that.’
