Ashley Brown has returned as the chairman of the Pompey Supporters’ Trust.

And he will also keep his place on the club’s board, along with Mark Trapani and John Kimbell.

Brown, a driving force behind the Trust and its subsequent stake in the reformed football club, previously lost his role as chairman in December 2014.

Trust board members instead voted Ken Malley to the position.

However, Malley died in June, creating a vacancy at the head of the group.

Now, following a vote at the Trust’s monthly board meeting on Monday night, Brown has been restored as chairman.

He is joined by Pam Wilkins, who has been made vice-chairwoman, replacing Tom Dearie in the role.

In addition, Eric Coleborn has been co-opted onto the Trust board.

Coleborn is a member of the presidents and his appointment is seen as a means of strengthening ties between both groups.

Coleborn said: ‘I strongly believe that our football club have the most fantastic supporters in the world.

‘This has been proven by the incredible number of people who came to the club’s rescue in its hour of need.

‘I am pleased to be co-opted to the PST board and I hope to bring everybody together to help achieve success on and off the pitch.

‘I think I can bring passion with an ability to deal with problems that every organisation experiences.’
