POMPEY supporters have been celebrating their club in style as the first fans day since the Trust took over was held outside Fratton Park.
Hundreds of people turned up to the fans day, which was held before the club’s friendly with Charlton on Saturday.
Taking place in the car park behind Fratton Park, there was a bouncy castle, a live band, refreshments and merchandise.
Tony Pollard, 59, from Forest Close in Waterlooville, said: ‘We’ve really enjoyed it. It’s been quite surprising how many people have turned up.
‘It’s a lovely day, nice bit of music. It’s been really good.
‘I think they should have this three or four times a season.’

Lyndsey Marshall, 58, from Petersfield, said: ‘I think it’s a brilliant idea because it feels like it’s launching the new season. There’s a lot of excitement about the new season and our new ownership so I think it’s been a very big success.’
Organiser Tom Dearie said: ‘It’s surpassed how many people I thought would come to be honest.
‘It’s fantastic to see everyone out proud to be wearing Pompey shirts again.’ The fans day also gave supporters the opportunity to see the new away shirt. The white shirt has a Pompey blue trim and a red collar. It also includes a watermark of the famous Sports Mail sailor.
Tom said:. ‘The biggest question is when it’s going to be on sale as people want to buy it.’
