Wes Thomas has been recalled from his Pompey loan spell by Bournemouth.

The on-loan striker scored three goals in six appearances and became a big hit with the Blues fans during his short spell.

But the 25-year-old has been ordered to report back to Dean Court for training on Monday morning so will be unavailable for Pompey’s televised trip to Sheffield United on Monday evening.

Although boss Michael Appleton was disappointed, he is hopeful of bringing in an as yet un-named replacement loan signing over the weekend in time for the League One clash at Bramall Lane.
