Pompey have shot down speculation linking them with a move for Jay Emmanuel-Thomas.
Arsenal have reportedly accepted a £1m bid for the midfielder from Pompey, along with Burnley and Ipswich.
That is news to Steve Cotterill, though.
Instead he is adamant he is not in the market for the 20-year-old, who spent time on loan at Cardiff last season.
He said: ‘We haven’t put in a bid for him.
‘There is absolutely no truth in that whatsoever.
‘He’s not a player who has been on our radar at all this year.
‘I have no idea where that has come from.
‘Maybe he is going somewhere else and the agent is trying to drum up interest.
‘But there is no interest from us.’
Meanwhile, Pompey have decided against offering triallist Shavar Thomas a permanent deal.
The Jamaican international captain has spent the past week with the Blues in Charleston.
He played the first half in the 2-2 draw against a Charleston XI on Thursday night.
But Cotterill has declined to follow up his interest in the defender, who has now returned to Sporting Kansas City.
He added: ‘Shavar has gone back.
‘He did well in the game the other night but I don’t think he would be anything better than what we already have at the football club.
‘It was best that decision was made sooner rather than later.
‘He’s a really nice lad but we’ve got some nice lads and good players as it is.
‘We didn’t want another in there if he wasn’t better than what we already have.’
