Pompey fans have been urged fans not to succumb to complacency ahead of the visit of struggling Scunthorpe.

Blues boss Steve Cotterill is concerned four successive wins will take the edge off the clash and has called on the Fratton faithful to be at their vocal best.

Expectations of a home triumph are high following recent results.

But Cotterill warned fans to not take anything for granted.

He said: ‘I really, really would urge our fans to be very vocal tonight.

‘This is such an important game.

‘We need them behind us and willing us on like they were when we had that bit of a bad run. I really don’t want them to be quiet.

‘So, John Westwood, make sure you bring your bell and get everybody going around you.

‘There are a big couple of games ahead of us this week and I urge our fans to be at their passionate best. For sure they can help us win any game.’
