Steve Cotterill paid tribute to Pompey’s passing quality after victory over Crystal Palace.

David Nugent got the only goal of the game at Fratton Park to give his side a 1-0 win.

The reality was the Blues could have won by a lot more as they stretched their winning run to three on the bounce.

Cotterill was happy that his men produced a display which warranted success, after demanding that before the game.

Some of the football produced was as good as anything seen this season from Pompey.

Cotterill said: ‘It was as dominant a 1-0 win as you are likely to witness.

‘I was really pleased with how we performed, and I really was impressed with the football we played.

‘Normally I’m checking my watch every five minutes. I hardly did that.

‘So that shows how comfortable I felt.

‘It was a good win against a good side.

‘Palace will only move forward now, so we are pleased with the win.’
