Cotterill said: 'I thought we deserved to win that game.
'We had the chances to pick up a win.
'We started well in the first-half but you forget that when you go in one down at the break.
'There were more chances in the second-half, and sometimes you do wonder whether it is going to go in.'
Nugent's fine form continued with his header 17 minutes from time crowning another bright display.
Cotterill is delighted to see the Scouser playing with such confidence.
He said: 'It's great for Nugent to score again and he's flying at the minute.'
