Frustrated Steve Cotterill believes Pompey deserved a return at Leeds.

The Blues fell to a 1-0 loss at Elland Road with Danny Pugh’s first-half header the difference.

Pompey were under the cosh for the first 45 minutes but were a different team after the break.

The visitors pushed for an equaliser after a switch to two up top, but the goal wouldn’t come.

Cotterill felt the goal was a poor one to concede, but believed his team’s display warranted a return.

He said: ‘From that second-half display we deserved something out of the game, that’s for sure.

‘We didn’t test their keeper enough to get a win, but we were well worth a point.

‘I thought we played really well after the break, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard the Leeds fans so quiet when I’ve been here.

‘It was a mistake in the first-half for the goal.

‘We looked tired but we stepped it up after the break and deserved a return.’
