Vanessa Raynbird has targeted victory over Cardiff on Sunday to keep Pompey Ladies’ positive momentum going.

Three wins and one draw in their past four games has seen the Blues hitting form at the business end of the season.

They have booked their place in the FA Women’s Premier League cup semi-finals and the Hampshire Cup final. But it’s back to the bread and butter of league action on Sunday.

Due to cup matches and the bad weather, Pompey have played just once in the Premier League national division in 2013.

But Raynbird is confident her side can go to Wales and secure the points.

She said: ‘Cardiff are a beatable team.

‘Three points would be great.

‘We drew with them at home but this is a good opportunity to get a win.’

Striker Jemma Tewkesbury should be raring to go after returning from her ankle injury in Sunday’s win over Barnet, when she did not show any signs of pain.

Midfielder Lindsey Roe is also on the mend after an ankle problem and could feature.

Winger Shelly Cox is unavailable, though, with Lucy Quinn and Sarah Kempson likely to be vying for the position on the flank.
