Have your say

Gaffer for a day Steve Ayling previews the Dagenham v Pompey game.

It is never a good time to change a team and I believe in keeping a settled side.

But I’m going for a 4-4-2 at Dagenham & Redbridge tomorrow with Marc McNulty coming into the team!

John Still’s side have conceded loads of goals and if you are going to get in those automatic promotion spots we have to go for them.

They won the other night against Morecambe and have a threat in Jamie Cureton and Joss Labadie, but we shouldn’t be going there with any fear factor.

We are in a position now where draws are not good enough – so let’s go a little different to make sure.

Let’s take out Adam McGurk, bring in McNulty, and shuffle them around for a 4-4-2. McNulty is a proven scorer and we need goals, while I am not sure about McGurk at the moment.

Is he fully fit because sometimes it appears he is not up to speed or aware of what’s going on around him.

He missed that glorious chance against Carlisle when he struck the post and I know if that was McNulty then it would have found its way into the net.

Perhaps Paul Cook is trying to please too many people down there, but in the nitty gritty of the season we have to start playing our best XI every week.

We can still get automatic promotion, I am one of those that continues to believe.

If we win Saturday that represents the first time in the league we would have collected three successive victories – that would be a great signal to the rest of our rivals.

Plus, I think our remaining fixtures are quite friendly.

If we win on Saturday and one or two little results go our way then some people will be twitching.
