Tom Davies admitted he’s having to pinch himself following his move to Pompey.

The centre-half today signed at two-year deal at Fratton Park after his contract at Accrington Stanley expired.

Last season was the 24-year-old’s first experience of Football League action, after spending the majority of his playing days in the non-league scene.

He lined up 38 times for the League Two outfit and impressed following the step up to help John Coleman’s side reach the play-offs.

Now Davies, who was also on Fleetwood’s books without making an appearance, is preparing for another exciting chapter in his career.

And the defender can’t quite believe he’s signed for a club of Pompey’s stature.

‘It’s unbelievable,’ he said.

‘A club of this size is literally one you can’t turn down.

‘With all due respect to Accrington, I’ve now gone from a smallish club to a place like this.

‘I’ve only been in the game professionally for two years, after a season at Fleetwood where I didn’t play.

‘I’m pinching myself and it’s an unbelievable feeling to get it over the line.’
