There are just two days remaining to name your choice for The News/Sports Mail player of the season.
And currently heading the fans’ selection are, in no particular order, Jed Wallace, Ricky Holmes and Trevor Carson.
The end of tomorrow marks the curtain coming down on voting for the recipient of the prestigious trophy in recognition of their displays over 2013-14.
The campaign has been a massively disappointing one yet again for the Fratton faithful.
But that hasn’t stopped supporters spending the past week e-mailing us their votes.
The winning candidate will be presented with the trophy on the pitch of the final match of the season against Plymouth on Saturday.
Johnny Ertl was the convincing winner last year, following in the footsteps of Alan Knight, Noel Blake, Peter Crouch, Linvoy Primus and Hayden Mullins.
This season 40 players have been used, but three in particular have emerged as contenders in the eyes of the fans, during what is a tightly-fought battle.
Wallace has made 47 appearances so far, missing only two matches, and providing his usual attacking thrust from midfield.
The 20-year-old is also currently the Blues’ top-scorer with seven goals – none of which have been penalties, to emphasise his all-round worth to the team.
His first full campaign in senior football, he has built on the displays and goals he produced during the second half of last season.
Holmes has emerged as the assist king, whether from open play or dead-ball situations.
He currently has eight league assists and has netted twice in 44 appearances during his maiden Blues season.
The former Barnet man’s energy, coupled with his imagination on the ball, has made him a crowd favourite and deservedly put him in the frame for the award.
Carson has stepped in to solve Pompey’s goalkeeping headache which was so prevalent before he arrived.
Joining on loan from Bury in October, he has proven to be a reliable presence with excellent shot-stopping capabilities.
The 26-year-old has made 38 appearances to date and is eager to remain at Fratton beyond the expiry of his loan arrangement.
Others may have also impressed Pompey followers and you can e-mail your own choice to firstname.lastname@example.org
The deadline is midnight tomorrow evening.
