Aaron Mokoena is out of Pompey’s trip to Doncaster after failing to obtain a work permit in time.
The Blues skipper is currently in South Africa following a friendly against Kenya on Wednesday night.
However, he is not allowed to return to England after his current work permit expired. Mokoena will not be given a new one until Monday.
And that rules him out of Saturday’s visit to Doncaster as Pompey strive for their first win in 11 matches.
Steve Cotterill said: ‘It’s a long way to go for a friendly to sit on the bench.
‘It is even more frustrating that he can’t get back here until Monday because of a visa.
‘I have had an indication of that so we will have to do without him for Doncaster.’
