Pompey have sold more than 1,000 season tickets in the past four days.

And totals had now reached 5,497 by yesterday, after fans took advantage of the ‘early bird’ period.

The club have announced the time frame for buying and renewing season tickets has been moved to 5pm on Friday, August 10.

It is designed to provide a bigger window for fans to take advantage of the lower prices.

Subsequently, since the ‘early bird’ extension was unveiled four days ago, more than 1,000 seats have been bought.

It’s a take-up boost for Pompey with the season five weeks away and the club still in administration and subject to registration restrictions by the Football League.

In the meantime, fans are being advised the seats of existing season ticket holders will be reserved until Sunday.

Tickets will go off sale from the ticket office at 5pm today. Although, the online and phone sales deadline is midnight at Sunday.

Supporters who have bought or renewed a season ticket will then get the opportunity to move seats from Tuesday, July 10 until Friday, July 13.

That can be done by visiting the Frogmore Road ticket office or by calling 0844 847 1898 (option six).

Season tickets will then go back on sale at the ‘early bird’ rate from 10am on Monday, July 16.

However, they will be available to buy only in person from the ticket office.

Current ‘early bird’ pricing offers existing adult season ticket renewals savings of £151, averaging £13 per game.

Junior Blues fan will pay just £75 for their season ticket – that works out at just £3.26 per match.

Season tickets can be bought on-line at portsmouthfc.co.uk or by calling 0844 847 1898 (option four for renewals/option five for new sales) until midnight on Sunday, July 8.

Tickets bought online and by phone are subject to a booking fee of £2.40 and £3.60 respectively.

Season tickets will be on general sale prices from 10am on Tuesday, August 11.
